  • Early Childhood Teacher

 Certificate III in Childhood Education & Care

As a CIII you will be responsible for contributing to a high quality early education and care program that supports children's learning and development and is aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework. Specifically, you will:

  • Work with your team to develop an educational program that is appropriate to the individual needs and interests of the children
  • Work collaboratively to ensure the best outcomes for children and families
  • Assist children to become confident and involved learners
  • Assess, reflect and share information with parents about the child's progress
  • Provide children with a safe, welcoming and nurturing environment

 Essential Criteria CIII

  • A current paid working with children check number
  • A Certificate III level qualification in Children's Services as identified by the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority
  • Knowledge of the National Quality Framework, National Quality Standards and EYLF
  • An understanding of Child Protection and Mandatory Reporting
  • Experience working with children aged 0-5 years
  • Good communication, collaboration and organisational skills
  • A passion for developing, planning and implementing an innovative educational program with a commitment to inclusive early childhood practice
  • Knowledge of the stages of physical, emotional, cognitive, social and cultural development of children.
  • Knowledge of health, hygiene and the nutrition needs of children
  • Experience in / or interest in additional needs / challenging behaviours
  • A commitment to your own ongoing professional development in early childhood
  • ACECQA approved qualifications and certificates in, or willingness to obtain; Child Protection, First Aid, Emergency Asthma Management, Emergency Anaphylaxis Management

Position Terms: Two Permanent Part Time positions available

  • Monday to Thursday 9am to 1pm

Administration Position

Gloucester Preschool is seeking an experiences Administration Assistant, or a Business Administration III trainee.

We are looking for an experienced and organised Administration assistant to supervise daily support operations of our service and coordinate the most efficient administrative procedures to ensure that daily office operations are performed in a seamless and efficient manner.

You will work closely with the Director, Centre Manager and Administration team.

Using your exceptionally high standards of customer service, you will provide a warm welcome to families and have the ability to develop positive rapport with new and existing centre families and contribute to the continuous improvement of the centre’s performance. 

Responsibilities:

You will perform a broad range of administrative duties.

  • Provide direct assistance and support and organisation schedules to the Director and Centre Manager
  • Support in the management of family accounts using the Xplor childcare administration software
  • Support in the management of family accounts using the Appsessment documentation software
  • Maintain and manage staff, child, and family records in accordance with policies and guidelines
  • Manage filing and centre records using digital platforms
  • Managing of family accounts with a high level of knowledge of childcare subsidy, rebates, and processes to assist families with payment of fees 
  • Receiving, receipting and marking roles in Xplor.
  • Manage staff files and support the centre manager in onboarding procedures of staff including staff qualifications, and records for regulatory authority.
  • Analysing and collating data as required.
  • Work with the centre manager and administration team to support the centre to Exceed the National Quality Standards
  • Answering phones, emails, meet and greet and providing support to families
  • Ensuing the customer journey is always smooth positive and seamless
  • Liaise with existing and new families with respect, develop trust & maintain confidentiality
  • Conduct regular audits of children’s electronic and hard file records to ensure all details are current and correct
  • Ensure the smooth and adequate flow of information within the organisation to help facilitate smooth business operations
  • Manage schedules and deadlines
  • Monitor consumables and the purchasing of new materials with attention to budgetary constraints
  • WHS implementation and support 
  • Support emergency evacuation procedure

Essential Criteria for Trained Administration applicant

  • Certificate in Administration
  • Current Police Check or willing to obtain
  • A current paid working with children check number
  • ACECQA approved qualifications and certificates in, or willingness to obtain; Child Protection, First Aid, Emergency Asthma Management, Emergency Anaphylaxis Management
  • Proven experience as administration assistant
  • Ability to work in a busy fast paced environment 
  • In-depth understanding of office management procedures and implementation of centre policies.
  • Proficient in digital platforms and organisational systems
  • Good communication, collaboration, organisational skills and multitasking abilities
  • Proven customer service experience
  • A team player with an ability to work in team/cooperative situation.
  • Demonstrated experience with word-processing and spreadsheets. 
  • Displays a high level of general work ethics, including attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to work effectively autonomously and as part of a team

Desirable Skills for Trained Administration applicant

  • Proven experience as administration assistant in a childcare environment
  • Experience in the use of Xplor childcare administration software essential
  • Sound understanding of the Child care subsidy scheme
  • Understanding and knowledge of childcare subsidy requirements
  • Knowledge of the National Quality Framework, National Quality Standards and EYLF
  • An understanding of Child Protection and Mandatory Reporting
  • Experience working with children aged 0-5 years of age
  • Proficient in IT skills

 Essential Criteria - Trainee

  • A current paid working with children check number
  • Current Police Check or willing to obtain
  • ACECQA approved qualifications and certificates in, or willingness to obtain; Child Protection, First Aid, Emergency Asthma Management, Emergency Anaphylaxis Management
  • Agreement to undertake an 24 month traineeship 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A friendly and energetic attitude
  • Ability to work in a busy fast paced environment 
  • Good communication, collaboration, organisational skills and multitasking abilities
  • A team player with an ability to work in team/cooperative situation.
  • Displays a high level of general work ethics, including attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to work effectively autonomously and as part of a team

 The successful candidate/s will be required to successfully complete a National Criminal History Record Check, have a current employee Working with Children Check, sign a Health Declaration, and present evidence of the right to Work in Australia.

Position Terms: Permanent Part-Time – 4.5 hours Shifts between 9am and 1:30pm 3 days a week. The service closes for 2 weeks over the Christmas period.

Award: Clerks – Private Sector Award 2020. Level will depend on applicant’s experience.

Position to commence: April 2025

The Centre
Gloucester Preschool & Early Years Learning Centre is on Worimi & Biripi Country on the Mid North Coast. It is a community based not-for-profit service providing preschool. Long day care and support playgroup sessions. Rated as exceeding we are licenced for 85 children and currently operate with a daily capacity of 58 children. The service has been established for 50 years and caters for children aged 0 to 5 years. We are passionate about creating the very best learning environments and the highest quality early learning programs.

Our philosophy focuses on the rights of the child, collaboration with families & the local community. Our pedagogy focuses on nature, environmental sustainability, risky play and positive social and emotional skill development. Experience

Excellent understanding and working knowledge of the National Quality Framework, which includes National Regulations, National Quality Standards (NQS), and the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
Demonstrated experience in curriculum development & documenting children’s learning.
Previous experience working in the early childhood sector (desirable)
