As a CIII or CIII Trainee, you will be responsible for contributing to a high quality early education and care program that supports children's learning and development and is aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework. Specifically, you will:
· Work with your team to develop an educational program that is appropriate to the individual needs and interests of the children
· Work collaboratively to ensure the best outcomes for children and families
· Assist children to become confident and involved learners
· Assess, reflect and share information with parents about the child's progress
· Provide children with a safe, welcoming and nurturing environment
Essential Criteria CIII and Diploma
- A current paid working with children check number
- A Certificate III or Diploma level qualification in Children's Services as identified by the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority
- Knowledge of the National Quality Framework, National Quality Standards and EYLF
- An understanding of Child Protection and Mandatory Reporting
- Experience working with children aged 0-5 years
- Good communication, collaboration and organisational skills
- A passion for developing, planning and implementing an innovative educational program with a commitment to inclusive early childhood practice
- Knowledge of the stages of physical, emotional, cognitive, social and cultural development of children.
- Knowledge of health, hygiene and the nutrition needs of children
- Experience in / or interest in additional needs / challenging behaviours
- A commitment to your own ongoing professional development in early childhood
- ACECQA approved qualifications and certificates in, or willingness to obtain; Child Protection, First Aid, Emergency Asthma Management, Emergency Anaphylaxis Management
Essential Criteria CIII Trainee
- A current paid working with children check number
- Agreement to undertake an 18 month traineeship
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A friendly and energetic demeanor

Position Terms: Permanent Full Time- Shifts between 7.45am and 5.15pm, Monday to Friday. The service closes for 2 weeks over the Christmas period.

The Centre
Gloucester Preschool & Early Years Learning Centre is on Worimi & Biripi Country on the Mid North Coast. It is a community based not-for-profit service providing preschool. Long day care and support playgroup sessions. Rated as exceeding we are licenced for 85 children and currently operate with a daily capacity of 58 children. The service has been established for 50 years and caters for children aged 0 to 5 years. We are passionate about creating the very best learning environments and the highest quality early learning programs.
Our philosophy focuses on the rights of the child, collaboration with families & the local community. Our pedagogy focuses on nature, environmental sustainability, risky play and positive social and emotional skill development. We use project books to inspire creative engagement in learning, provoke imaginative, curiosity and a sense of wonder.
The Centre has exceptional indoor and outdoor environments that are spacious and focus on nature elements that support the holistic development of children. We have four indoor learning spaces, and 3 outdoor learning environments. Each room is filled with quality educational resources for the best in play-based learning. Every child is supported to develop a lifelong love of learning.
The Role
The role requires a creative and passionate Early Childhood Teacher to work as an active team member in providing high quality education and care. Key Selection Criteria
ACECQA recognised Degree in Early Childhood Teaching
Current NESA Teacher’s Accreditation
Current First Aid Training HLTAID012
Child Protection – CHCPRT001 or CHCPRT025
Valid Working with Children’s Check
Experience
Excellent understanding and working knowledge of the National Quality Framework, which includes National Regulations, National Quality Standards (NQS), and the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
Demonstrated experience in curriculum development & documenting children’s learning.
Previous experience working in the early childhood sector (desirable)
